Texas Local SEO Company for Service Businesses
Moha is a Texas local SEO company for service businesses in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Frisco, Sugar Land, Pasadena and Waco. We run the Google Business Profile, the reviews, the city pages, the technical work and the links, and we report on calls and booked jobs rather than rankings. Texas is 261,268 square miles of separate markets, so local SEO services here are planned metro by metro, never statewide.
Free, and no call required. We send back what we would fix first in your metro.

Where customers find you
Three places Texas customers find a business, and how our SEO covers each
A hail storm crosses Plano on a Tuesday afternoon. By Tuesday evening several thousand people are looking for a roofer, and almost all of them look in the same three places: the Map Pack at the top of Google, the organic results below it, and an AI answer that summarizes the whole page before anyone clicks. Each of the three rewards different work, which is why a Texas SEO company has to cover all three rather than pick one.
The Map Pack on Google Maps
Three businesses on a map, above everything else, and where almost every "near me" search ends up. Google ranks them on relevance, distance and prominence, so your Google Business Profile, your reviews and your local citations decide whether you show up. In a state this spread out, distance does more work here than almost anywhere, and local SEO in Texas pays back fastest.
The organic search results
Below the map, your website competes on search engine optimization in the classic sense: keyword research, on-page SEO, technical SEO, content and backlinks. Organic traffic is how a Houston business reaches a searcher in Katy or Conroe where it has no office, and how you win the longer questions the Map Pack never answers.
AI Overviews and ChatGPT
AI Overviews and assistants such as ChatGPT answer a growing share of questions before anyone clicks. Google states there are no special requirements to appear in AI Overviews: a page has to be indexed, eligible for a snippet and genuinely helpful. We build pages an AI answer can quote and a reputation it can trust.
Local SEO services in Texas, and what each one actually does
Ten services, run together every month by one team: local SEO and your Business Profile, keyword research, on-page SEO, technical SEO, content strategy, link building, citations, review management, AI search and reporting. Nothing here is a tool we hand you a login for. The work is done, and the report tells you what it produced.
You can take one service on its own or run several together. Most Texas businesses start with local SEO, because in a market where one storm can create a month of demand in an afternoon, it is the shortest path from a search to a ringing phone. What follows is the full list, so you can judge a Texas local SEO company by what it puts its name to rather than by a package label.

Local SEO and Google Business Profile optimization
Your Google Business Profile is the listing that appears in the Map Pack and on Google Maps, so it earns the most attention first. We choose the primary and secondary categories that match the work you actually want, complete every service and attribute, add photos from real Texas jobs, publish regular posts and keep hours accurate through holidays, heat waves and storm weeks.
For businesses that travel to customers, we set the service area up the way Google allows: up to 20 areas within about two hours' drive, with the address hidden if customers never visit. In Texas that limit bites harder than in any state we work in, and a profile built inside the rules stays live.
Keyword research for Texas cities and services
Keyword research shows how your customers actually search, metro by metro, and in Texas the words in front of a service change with the weather: a roofer in Frisco is answering hail questions while a roofer in Houston is answering wind and insurance questions. Same trade, same state, two different pages.
The result is a keyword map, the backbone of your SEO strategy, that decides which page targets which search, so two of your own pages never compete for the same query. With three of our own city pages inside the Houston metro, we know exactly how that goes wrong when nobody plans it.
On-page SEO for service and location pages
On-page SEO makes each page clearly about one thing. We write titles, headings and meta descriptions from the keyword map, put the answer first, link your services to the Texas cities you serve and mark each page up so search engines read it correctly.
Location pages get the most care, because Texas punishes lazy ones. A page for Pasadena has to say Texas loudly enough to separate itself from Pasadena, California, and a page for Sugar Land has to be built from Sugar Land's own neighborhoods rather than Houston's. Pages that change only the city name get treated as duplicates and end up competing with each other.
Technical SEO: speed, mobile, crawling and schema
Technical SEO in Texas has a stress test built into the climate. A hail storm crosses a suburb and a roofer's website gets a month of traffic in two hours, on phones, outdoors, on a loaded network. Sites that were merely adequate at normal traffic time out exactly when the demand arrives. We measure Core Web Vitals under that kind of load, not on an empty Tuesday.
The rest is the plumbing that decides whether Google can read you at all: indexing, redirects, broken links, sitemaps, mobile layout, and LocalBusiness and Service schema markup that matches what a visitor can actually see on the page. For multi location businesses we also keep each location's structured data pointing at its own profile, which is where big Texas service companies most often lose Map Pack visibility without noticing.
Content strategy and content marketing in English and Spanish
Search engines rank the pages that answer a real question best. Our content strategy starts from what Texas customers ask before they buy, such as whether a hail claim needs a full replacement or how long a new compressor takes in August, and turns it into service pages, city pages and guides that bring organic traffic and leads.
Where your customers search in Spanish, we write real Spanish pages rather than machine translations. 35.1% of Texans speak a language other than English at home, and native speakers can tell the difference in one sentence.
Link building and off-page SEO with Texas sources
Backlinks remain one of the strongest signals of authority, and for a local business the useful ones are local and specific. In Texas that usually means the trade body your business already belongs to, the metro chamber rather than a statewide one, supplier and manufacturer directories, the little league team you sponsor, and the local paper when you have something real to say.
For the unlicensed trades this matters twice over. A Texas roofer has no license number to point at, so membership of a recognised roofing association and a manufacturer certification page are doing the work a license would do elsewhere: they are both a trust signal to a customer and a link. We do not buy links or use networks that put your site at risk.
Local citations and NAP consistency
Citations are listings of your business name, address and phone number, known as NAP, across directories and data sources. When they disagree, customers and search engines both lose confidence. We audit and correct them, starting from the name on file with the Texas Secretary of State, so every listing tells the same story.
For the trades Texas licenses, we add the license number wherever a directory allows it, because for air conditioning and refrigeration contractors state rules already require it in advertising.
Review management
In a storm trade, reviews arrive in clusters and then stop for months, which makes them a rhythm problem rather than a volume problem. Twenty reviews in one April week followed by silence reads differently to both customers and Google than a steady flow. We time requests to go out as each job closes so the pattern stays even, and reply to every review in your voice, in English or Spanish.
Reviews that name the neighborhood and the job are the ones that earn you the next customer, so the request asks for exactly that. For health care and legal clients, no reply ever confirms who is a patient or a client. Businesses that already rank and want more from it can take review management on its own.
AI search optimization for AI Overviews and ChatGPT
Ask an assistant for a roofer in Frisco and it will name two or three businesses without showing you a results page at all. Moha is an AI powered digital marketing agency, so we treat that as part of SEO rather than a separate product you buy later. There is no trick to it, and anyone selling one is guessing.
What an AI answer needs is a business whose facts agree with themselves everywhere, pages that answer the question in the first sentence, local detail that exists nowhere else, and a reputation it can verify. That is the same work that wins the Map Pack, aimed one step further along. One of our clinic clients is pulled into Google's AI answers, and nothing about how we got there was exotic.
SEO reporting you can act on
A Texas business with locations in two metros needs two answers, not one average. Our reports split calls, direction requests, form fills and booked jobs by location, so you can see that Houston is carrying Dallas or the other way round, and decide where the next month of work should go.
Rankings and organic traffic sit alongside those numbers as the explanation, not the headline. Every report ends with what we will do next and why, and when something is not working it says so on the first page rather than waiting for you to ask.
Work you can check
Local SEO results you can verify
Ask any local SEO agency in Texas one question before you sign: which tool was that number measured in, and over what window. If the answer is vague, the number is decoration. Our case studies name both for every figure, and the three below are the ones built on local and programmatic SEO rather than paid media.

The route page storyTexas markets
Local SEO in Texas: cities that are either 20 miles apart or 200
Texas gives a local business both of the problems that break local SEO, at the same time. Our seven Texas cities are either close enough to compete with each other or far enough apart that no single listing can serve them. Houston, Pasadena and Sugar Land sit inside 26 miles of one another. Dallas and Frisco are 26 miles apart. Then the gaps open up: 189 miles from Houston to San Antonio, 225 from Houston to Dallas, 276 from San Antonio to Frisco.
Google limits a Business Profile's service area to about two hours' drive and ranks listings partly on how close they are to the searcher, so the far pairs need a real location each. The near pairs need the opposite treatment: separate content, separate reviews and separate internal links, or your own pages start taking each other's rankings. That failure is not theoretical. We have measured it on our own city pages.
The scale is worth stating plainly. Texas covers 261,268 square miles at about 112 people per square mile, against 401 per square mile in Florida. Houston to El Paso is 674 miles, which is further than London to Marseille. A national agency that treats the state as one market has already lost most of it, which is why a Texas SEO company should be able to tell you which metro it is planning for before it quotes you a price.

Local SEO in Houston
Houston reached 2,390,125 residents by July 2024 inside a metro of 7,796,182 that added 645,949 people in four years. It is the one Texas market where three of our city pages share a single search region: Pasadena is 11 miles away and Sugar Land 19. Montrose, the Heights and Midtown each behave like their own market, and a search from Bellaire can return a different set of businesses than the same search in Aldine. Our Houston work anchors the profile to the neighborhoods you really cover, in English and Spanish, and keeps this page from competing with the Pasadena and Sugar Land pages.
Areas around it: West University Place, Bellaire, South Houston, Pasadena, Cloverleaf, Aldine
See the Houston plan
Local SEO in Dallas
Dallas holds 1,326,087 residents inside Dallas Fort Worth Arlington, a metro of 8,344,032 that added 705,774 people between 2020 and 2024, more than any other metro in the state. Uptown, Deep Ellum and Oak Cliff draw different customers, and the ring of suburbs from University Park and Irving out to Grand Prairie and Balch Springs behaves like a set of separate markets with their own searches. Frisco, 26 miles north, has a page of its own for that reason. We build Dallas listings to win the Dallas County side of the metro rather than stretching one profile across all of it.
Areas around it: University Park, Irving, Duncanville, Farmers Branch, Balch Springs, Grand Prairie
See the Dallas plan
Local SEO in San Antonio
San Antonio added 92,334 residents between 2020 and 2024 to reach 1,526,656, inside a metro of 2,763,006. It is the most Hispanic of our large Texas markets, and customers move between English and Spanish inside a single conversation. Southtown, the Pearl District and King William are searched by name, and the towns to the northeast, Converse, Live Oak, Universal City, Schertz, Cibolo and New Braunfels, sit far enough out to deserve their own service area entries. San Antonio is also the one large Texas market with no second page of ours nearby, so it competes with nobody in our own set.
Areas around it: Converse, Live Oak, Universal City, Schertz, Cibolo, New Braunfels
See the San Antonio plan
Local SEO in Frisco
Frisco is the fastest growing city in our Texas set by a wide margin: 200,537 residents in April 2020 and 235,208 by July 2024, a rise of 17.3% in four years. That is the clearest local SEO opportunity on this page, because a household that has just moved in has no plumber, no dentist and no roofer, and picks one from the Map Pack. Frisco Square, Starwood and Stonebriar are searched by name, and The Colony, Prosper, Little Elm, Allen, Plano and Lewisville are all a short drive away. At 26 miles from Dallas, the two pages have to be written not to compete.
Areas around it: The Colony, Prosper, Little Elm, Allen, Plano, Lewisville
See the Frisco plan
Local SEO in Sugar Land
Sugar Land has 109,851 residents and, unlike Frisco, it is holding rather than growing: the July 2024 estimate sits 1,189 below the 2020 base. In a flat market, growth comes from taking share, which puts the weight on reviews and a complete profile rather than on volume of new content. First Colony, Telfair and Riverstone are searched by name, and New Territory, Stafford, Mission Bend, Pecan Grove, Missouri City and Alief are all close enough to serve. Sugar Land is 19 miles from Houston and 26 from Pasadena, so all three profiles have to be honest about where they really work.
Areas around it: New Territory, Stafford, Mission Bend, Pecan Grove, Missouri City, Alief
See the Sugar Land plan
Local SEO in Pasadena
Pasadena, Texas has 149,617 residents and a problem no other city in our set has: it shares its name with Pasadena, California, 1,377 miles away. Pasadena, Texas is in fact the larger of the two, by about 12,000 people, and the less famous by a wide margin, so a business here has to make the state unmistakable in its profile, its title tags and its content. Golden Acres, Red Bluff Terrace and Parkgate are local searches, and Deer Park, Channelview, Pearland and South Houston are within easy reach. At 11 miles from downtown Houston this is the closest pair in our Texas set.
Areas around it: South Houston, Deer Park, Cloverleaf, Channelview, Pearland, Houston
See the Pasadena plan
Local SEO in Waco
Waco reached 146,608 residents by July 2024 inside a metro of 307,123, the smallest of our four Texas markets and the only one where a single strong profile can realistically cover most of the area. Downtown Waco, Castle Heights and Brook Oaks are searched by name, and Temple, Belton, Killeen, Harker Heights, Gatesville and Fort Cavazos extend the market north and west. Waco is 87 miles from Dallas and 163 from Houston, comfortably its own market. In a metro this size the fastest wins usually come from reviews and citations rather than from volume of content.
Areas around it: Temple, Gatesville, Belton, Harker Heights, Killeen, Fort Cavazos
See the Waco planWhat Google's service area rules mean in practice
- Up to 20 service areas, listed as cities or ZIP codes, not a radius.
- About two hours' drive is the outer limit of the whole area.
- Hide the address if customers never come to you.
For a contractor based in Houston, Pasadena, Sugar Land, Katy, Pearland and The Woodlands are all fair to list. Waco, 163 miles north, is not, and San Antonio and Dallas certainly are not.
The rule that trips up expansion: no virtual offices
Google's guidelines for representing your business require a real location. A rented virtual office or a mailbox does not qualify unless it is staffed during business hours. In a state where the cheap way to look statewide is to rent four addresses, this is the single most common reason a Texas listing gets suspended.
| Metro area | 2024 population | Added since 2020 | Our city pages |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington | 8,344,032 | +705,774 | Dallas SEO, Frisco SEO |
| Houston-Pasadena-The Woodlands | 7,796,182 | +645,949 | Houston SEO, Pasadena SEO, Sugar Land SEO |
| San Antonio-New Braunfels | 2,763,006 | +204,619 | San Antonio SEO |
| Waco | 307,123 | +11,343 | Waco SEO |
Other Texas cities we serve
The seven cities above each have a published plan of their own. As a Texas local SEO company we also work with businesses across the rest of the state, including the Austin market, which at 2,550,637 people and 267,251 added since 2020 is growing faster than San Antonio and does not yet have a page here. The free audit looks at your own metro, whichever it is.
If you work beyond Texas, the closest comparisons we have written are local SEO in Florida, which shares the storm pattern, and the Front Range, where hail is the second worst in the country, which we cover in local SEO in Colorado.

Can one Google Business Profile cover both cities?
Pick two of the Texas cities we work in. The distance is the straight line between their city centers, from the same coordinates the map above uses, and the verdict is the rule we would apply to your own profile.
Straight line distance. Real drive time is longer, and Google's limit is about two hours of driving for the whole service area, not a fixed number of miles.
Who we work with
SEO for Texas industries where one customer is worth thousands
SEO pays best where a single job is worth more than a month of marketing and the competition is dense, which is where a Texas local SEO company earns its fee. In Texas that describes construction, with 52,522 small firms that have employees, and health care, with 57,572, according to the SBA's 2025 Texas profile. In construction, 70.9% of all jobs are at small firms, so a roofer is competing with hundreds of similar local businesses rather than a few national brands.
Roofing SEO in Texas
No trade in the country has a stronger case for SEO than a Texas roofer. Texas recorded 902 major hail events in 2025, more than the next two states combined, and one storm can produce a month of work in an afternoon. The roofers who capture it already have inspections, repairs, replacements, impact resistant systems and storm response listed on their profile, with photos of real local jobs. Texas also does not license roofing at state level, which cuts both ways. There is no license number to reassure anyone, so trust has to be built from reviews that name the neighborhood, manufacturer certifications, insurance details and a profile that has been active for years rather than days. Between storms we grow the pages that earn steady searches, such as inspections and full replacements, so the business is not sitting waiting for weather. That plan, storm response plus the steady pages, is the core of our roofing SEO services.
HVAC SEO in Texas
A failed air conditioner in a Texas August is an emergency, and the first few minutes of that search decide who gets the job: the customer calls whoever looks available, close and trustworthy right now. Winter matters too, because the February 2021 freeze taught a generation of Texans to search for heating and frozen pipes. Air conditioning is one of the trades Texas does license, and the advertising rule is unusually specific: state rules require the license number in advertising that solicits air conditioning or refrigeration work, with narrow exceptions. Our local SEO experts in Texas put the number on the site and in the profile description, matches the primary category to the work you most want, and keeps emergency hours and service areas honest about how far you really travel. Our HVAC SEO services page has the whole build.
Plumbing SEO in Texas
Plumbing demand in Texas is steady, with spikes that follow the weather: slab leaks in the summer heat, burst pipes in a hard freeze, and drain work in the spring. Emergency searches convert fastest of any trade we work with, and they almost always start in the Map Pack. Plumbing is licensed in Texas, and the rule reaches your marketing directly: a person who advertises or offers to provide plumbing must secure the services of a responsible master plumber. That makes your website and your Business Profile part of the compliance picture, not just the sales picture. We build plumbing SEO around emergency intent, a complete service list and reviews that name the job. Where the licence number has to appear, ad by ad, is set out in our plumbing SEO for licensed Texas firms.
Law firm SEO in Texas
Personal injury and family law are among the most competitive local categories in the state and among the most valuable anywhere, because a single signed matter can be worth more than a year of marketing. People search right after an accident and call quickly, so the Map Pack decides a great deal. We set out how we write practice area pages without breaking the advertising rules. Texas lawyers advertise under the State Bar's advertising rules, which reach a firm's website and online content, and filings go through the Advertising Review Committee. Our law firm SEO keeps one profile per real office, uses the firm's true name without added keywords, and builds practice area and city pages that stay factual. Review replies never discuss a matter.
Dental and medical SEO in Texas
Health care is the largest small business industry in Texas by employer count, at 57,572 firms with staff, which is more than construction. A patient in Houston choosing a dentist is looking at a dozen credible options inside fifteen minutes' drive, so the decision comes down to who has recent reviews, an appointment this week and a profile that answers the insurance question. Multi office groups are where most of the ranking is lost. Each office needs its own profile with its own hours, its own booking link and treatment pages listing only what that office and its providers actually do. Where the front desk answers in Spanish, the pages and the review replies should too. No reply we write ever confirms that a named person is a patient. Our dental SEO service goes further into the insurance question.
Med spa SEO in Texas
Aesthetic treatments are researched carefully and booked on trust, and Dallas and Houston are two of the most competitive med spa markets in the country. Customers compare before and after results, reviews that name a specific treatment, and the credentials of whoever performs it. Our med spa SEO builds treatment pages with honest descriptions, uses before and after photos only with written permission, keeps each location's service list aligned with what it really offers, and times review requests for when results are visible. Semrush shows about 1,000 searches a month for "med spa seo" nationally, which tells you how many spas are already working on this.
Only in Texas
Texas rules and seasons that shape your SEO
Three things set Texas apart from any other state we work in. A Texas SEO company plans around all three; a national agency usually ignores them.
Two kinds of storm, and only one of them has a calendar
The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30 and peaks on September 10, according to the National Hurricane Center, and it matters to every business on the Gulf side of the state, Houston, Pasadena and Sugar Land included. Hail is the opposite. Texas had 902 major hail events in 2025, the most of any state and 16.6% of the national total, and no date on the calendar tells you when the next one arrives.
So the plan has two halves. For the coast we work to a date: everything ready before June. For hail we build standing readiness instead, because a business that has to write its storm services into its profile after the storm has already lost the week. Google asks businesses to set special hours for short closures and to mark the business temporarily closed for anything longer than about a week, then to mark it reopened the day you are back.
Texas is the hail capital, and that is a search market
Hail is not a footnote in Texas. The state recorded 902 events with hailstones an inch or larger in 2025, against 375 in second placed Kansas, according to the Insurance Information Institute's hail statistics, drawn from NOAA's Storm Prediction Center. State Farm alone processed 95,200 hail claims in Texas in 2025 at an average payment of about $15,000.
For a roofer, a painter, an auto glass shop or a restoration company, that is the demand curve the whole marketing plan should be built on. It also explains why the Map Pack matters more here than a blog does: the searches that follow a storm are urgent, local and mobile, and they go to whoever is already visible.
Texas licenses some trades and not others, and your SEO should know which
Unlike Florida, Texas has no statewide general contractor license. It licenses specific trades instead, which means the rule about putting a license number in your advertising applies to some of your service pages and not others. For air conditioning and refrigeration contractors, the Texas Administrative Code is explicit: all advertising designed to solicit that work must include the license number, with narrow exceptions for national television, plain telephone listings, letterheads and signs at the permanent business location.
Plumbing carries its own advertising rule: under the Occupations Code, a person who advertises or otherwise offers to perform plumbing must secure the services of a responsible master plumber. Electrical work has a licensing requirement that covers offering to perform it, not only doing it. Roofing and general remodelling have no state license at all.
"All advertising by air conditioning and refrigeration contracting companies designed to solicit air conditioning or refrigeration business must include the affiliated licensee's license number."
The number belongs in the profile description and on the page, never in the business name, because Google requires the name you use in the real world. For the unlicensed trades the practical consequence is the opposite: with no number to show, reviews, manufacturer certifications and a long lived profile carry the whole trust signal.
Local SEO in English and Spanish
35.1% of Texans speak a language other than English at home and 40.9% of the population is Hispanic or Latino, according to the Census Bureau, while Hispanic owners hold 33.0% of the state's businesses according to the SBA. In San Antonio, Houston and the border markets especially, customers search in both languages, so Spanish service pages and Spanish replies to Spanish reviews are part of ranking and part of converting.
We write real Spanish pages rather than machine translations, mark each language up correctly so the two versions support each other instead of competing, and reply to every review in the language it was written in. We never create a second Business Profile for Spanish speaking customers: one business has one profile, and a duplicate puts both at risk.
Not every Texas business needs Spanish pages. A Frisco remodeler selling to recent arrivals from California may not. A San Antonio dental group almost certainly does. The audit looks at your own customers and your own search data before we recommend it.

Why Texas businesses choose Moha as their local SEO company

How it works
Our Texas local SEO process
How we work as your Texas local SEO company: foundations first, then reputation, then reach. For storm exposed trades we aim to finish the first two stages before spring, because hail does not wait for a content calendar.
Audit and metro decision
We work out which metro you can realistically win first, then audit your profile, reviews, citations and site against the businesses already winning it. The findings are yours either way.
Foundations
Keyword map, categories and service list, license number where your trade requires one, technical fixes and call tracking so month three has something to measure.
Reputation and content
Review requests running on every closed job, a page for each service and each city you actually cover, and citations corrected back to your registered name.
Authority and reach
Trade association and local links, more neighborhoods, Spanish where the search data supports it, and a second metro only once you have a staffed location in it.

A flat monthly retainer, quoted after the free audit, with no per lead charges. Texas local SEO marketing is priced on how many locations and metros you need to win, how competitive your trade is and whether you need content in two languages. Nothing is resold and there are no per lead fees.

Will SEO pay for itself for you?
At these numbers, SEO returns three dollars of revenue for every dollar spent.
Replying to reviews, from Google itself
After a Texas storm, a week of reviews arrives at once, and replies are the part owners skip. Customers read them, and so do the people comparing you with the next three roofers. This short video from Google's own help channel shows how replies work on a Business Profile. We handle them for our clients in English or Spanish.
Questions
Texas local SEO questions business owners ask
Collected from what owners ask on Quora, in Google's own Business Profile community and on the Local Search Forum, and from the questions people type into Google.
How much does local SEO cost in Texas?
With Moha, local SEO services in Texas start at $3,000 a month on the Launch plan and $4,800 a month on the Growth plan, with custom pricing for multi location businesses. You will find much cheaper offers. The difference is usually what actually gets done each month: a few hundred dollars typically buys listing updates and a report, not keyword research, content, link building and review management run together.
What is local SEO, and how is it different from regular SEO?
Regular SEO tries to rank a page for a search wherever it happens. Local SEO tries to get a business chosen by someone nearby who is ready to call, which is a different job with different levers: the Google Business Profile, reviews, citations, service areas and pages built around a city rather than a topic. The distinction shows up clearly in the search data. In Texas, "texas seo company" and "texas local seo company" are two different audiences, and the second one is the buyer a plumber, a roofer or a clinic actually wants. This page is about the second.
Do you offer local SEO services for small businesses in Texas?
Yes. Local SEO for small businesses in Texas is most of what we do. Our Launch plan exists for a single location running one channel. What we will not do is take on a business whose numbers say it cannot pay back: if one new customer is worth $200 and you close one call in ten, local SEO is the wrong investment and we will say so in the audit rather than after you have signed.
Is local SEO worth it for a small business?
It is worth it when one new customer is worth more than a month of SEO and you can give it a few months to build. For a roofer in hail country, a Houston plumber or a Dallas law firm, a handful of extra jobs a month usually covers the cost several times over. Use the calculator above with your own numbers before you decide.
What does an SEO company actually do each month?
A good Texas local SEO company researches how your customers search, fixes your website so Google can read and trust it, keeps your Google Business Profile complete and active, builds reviews, citations and backlinks, publishes content that answers buyers' questions, and reports on the calls and jobs it brought. The list of services above is exactly what we do.
How long does SEO take to show results in Texas?
Profile and citation fixes can show within weeks. Dallas and Houston are among the more competitive local markets in the country and usually take several months of steady reviews, content and links before rankings move a lot. Smaller markets such as Waco often move faster. We report monthly on calls and leads, so you see the trend rather than waiting on a single ranking.
How do I find the best local SEO company in Texas?
The best local SEO company in Texas for you is the one that can prove its work. Ask to see results you can verify, measured in a named tool over a stated window. Ask exactly what happens each month and who does it. Ask who will own your Business Profile, website and data. Ask which metro they plan to win first, because anyone promising all four at once has not looked at a map. And be careful with a guaranteed number one ranking, because nobody controls Google's results.
Can one Google Business Profile rank in Houston and Dallas?
No. They are 225 miles apart, far beyond the two hour service area limit, and Google ranks listings partly on distance from the searcher. To win both you need a real, staffed location in each with its own profile. Until you have one, a strong city page on your website can still earn organic traffic in the second market.
Can a service area business rank in the Map Pack without an office?
Yes. A business that goes to customers can hide its address and list up to 20 service areas within about two hours' drive, and still appear in the Map Pack. Distance from the searcher still counts, so you rank most easily near your base and need stronger pages and reviews to reach the far edge of the area.
My two city pages are 20 miles apart. Will they compete with each other?
They will if they say the same thing. Houston and Pasadena are 11 miles apart and Dallas and Frisco are 26, which is close enough that Google may treat near identical pages as duplicates and pick one, sometimes the wrong one. The fix is real difference: each page built from its own neighborhoods, its own reviews, its own services and its own internal links.
Who owns my Google Business Profile if I hire an SEO agency?
You do, or you should. Put your own Google account as the primary owner of the profile, the website and the analytics, and add the agency as a manager. That one setting is the difference between changing agencies in an afternoon and rebuilding a listing from scratch. Owners on the Local Search Forum regularly describe losing a listing they had spent years on because it sat in an agency's account. Any agency that needs to be the owner is telling you something.
What happens if my Business Profile gets suspended?
A suspended profile disappears from the Map Pack, and reviews can vanish with it until it is reinstated. Most suspensions follow a guideline problem: keywords added to the business name, a virtual office address, or duplicate listings created to look bigger. In a state this large the virtual office is the common trap, and prevention is much cheaper than recovery.
Should I hire an SEO agency, a freelancer or do SEO myself?
Honestly, do the basics yourself first. Fill the profile in completely, ask every finished customer for a review, and make sure your name, address and phone match everywhere. That is free and it is most of the early gain. An SEO consultant or freelancer is the right call for one defined job, such as a site migration, and local SEO consulting in Texas is easy to buy by the hour. An SEO agency in Texas earns its fee when you need keyword research, content, technical work, links and reviews moving together every month across more than one metro, and when an hour of your time is worth more on a job site than in a spreadsheet.
Will you get my business into AI Overviews and ChatGPT?
We cannot promise a place in an AI answer and neither can anyone else, because there is no submission form and no setting to switch on. What we can do is make your business the best supported answer to your customers' questions: facts that agree everywhere, pages that answer in the first line, and reviews that back it up. Google's own documentation says there are no special requirements beyond being indexed and genuinely helpful, which is the same bar the Map Pack sets.
Do you guarantee first page rankings?
No. Anyone guaranteeing a position either does not understand the Map Pack or is counting on you not to check: results move with where the searcher is standing, so two people on opposite sides of Houston see different rankings for the same words at the same moment. We guarantee the work and report the outcome that actually pays you, which is calls and booked jobs.
Do Texas contractors have to show a license number online?
It depends on the trade, which surprises people who have worked in other states. Texas has no statewide general contractor license, and roofing is not licensed at state level. Air conditioning and refrigeration advertising must carry the license number under 16 Texas Administrative Code 75.71(h), and plumbing advertising requires a responsible master plumber. We treat website and profile content as advertising and include the number wherever a trade requires it.
Should I mark my business temporarily closed during a hurricane?
Only if you will be shut for more than about a week. For shorter closures Google asks for special hours instead. Mark the business reopened the day you are back, because a listing left on "temporarily closed" quietly sends every customer to a competitor.
