Where customers find you
Three places Florida customers find a business, and how our SEO covers each
When a Florida homeowner needs a roofer or a patient needs a dentist, they find one in three places on Google: the Map Pack, the organic results below it and, more and more often, an AI answer at the top of the page. A Florida SEO company worth hiring has to win all three, because each one rewards different work.
The Map Pack on Google Maps
Most "near me" searches start here, with three businesses on a map. Google ranks them on relevance, distance and prominence, so your Google Business Profile, your reviews and your local citations decide whether you appear. This is where local SEO in Florida pays back fastest.
The organic search results
Below the map, your website competes on search engine optimization in the classic sense: keyword research, on-page SEO, technical SEO, content and backlinks. Organic traffic is how you win in cities where you have no office and on the longer searches the Map Pack never shows.
AI Overviews and ChatGPT
AI Overviews and assistants such as ChatGPT now answer many questions before anyone clicks. Google says there are no special requirements to appear in AI Overviews: a page has to be indexed, eligible for a snippet and genuinely helpful. We build pages AI answers can quote and a reputation they can trust.
Local SEO services in Florida, and what each one actually does
As a Florida SEO company, our SEO services cover every lever that moves a local business up in Google: local SEO and your Business Profile, keyword research, on-page and technical SEO, content, link building, citations, reviews, AI search and reporting. Our team runs all of it every month, so there is no tool for you to learn and nothing to log into.
You can take one service on its own or run several together. Most Florida businesses start with local SEO, because it is the shortest path from a search to a phone call. Every Florida local SEO service listed below is run by our own team, monthly, with nothing subcontracted.

Local SEO and Google Business Profile optimization
Your Google Business Profile is the listing that appears in the Map Pack and on Google Maps, so it gets the most attention. We choose the primary and secondary categories that match the work you want most, complete every service and attribute, add photos from real Florida jobs, publish regular posts and keep your hours accurate through holidays and storm season.
For businesses that travel to customers, we set up the service area the way Google allows: up to 20 areas within about two hours' drive, with the address hidden if customers never visit. A profile built within the rules stays live.
Keyword research for Florida cities and services
Keyword research shows exactly how your customers search, city by city. A roofer in Tampa and a roofer in Jacksonville do not use the same words, and a Miami clinic may see as many searches in Spanish as in English. We map every service you offer to the searches that bring buyers rather than browsers, and rank them by volume, difficulty and the value of the job.
The result is a keyword map, the backbone of your SEO strategy, that decides which page targets which search, so two of your own pages never compete for the same query. It is the step most SEO companies skip, and it decides whether everything after it works.
On-page SEO for service and location pages
On-page SEO makes each page clearly about one thing. We write titles, headings and meta descriptions from the keyword map, put the answer first, link your services to the Florida cities you serve and mark up each page so search engines read it correctly.
Location pages get special care. A page for each city only works if each one is genuinely different, built from that city's own neighborhoods, customers and questions. Pages that change only the city name are treated as duplicates and end up competing with each other instead of ranking.
Technical SEO: speed, mobile, crawling and schema
Most local searches in Florida happen on a phone, and Google judges the mobile version of your site. Technical SEO covers everything that lets search engines crawl, understand and trust your site: page speed and Core Web Vitals, mobile layout, indexing, redirects, broken links, sitemaps and structured data.
We add LocalBusiness and Service schema markup that matches what is visible on the page, fix what slows the site down and make sure the pages you want found can be crawled and indexed. None of it shows to a customer. All of it shows in rankings.
Content strategy and content marketing in English and Spanish
Search engines rank the pages that answer real questions best. Our content strategy starts from what Florida customers ask before they buy, such as what a roof inspection for insurance involves or how long an AC replacement takes, and turns it into service pages, city pages and guides that bring organic traffic and leads.
Where your customers search in Spanish, we write real Spanish pages rather than machine translations. 30.1% of Floridians speak a language other than English at home, and native speakers notice the difference.
Link building and off-page SEO with Florida sources
Backlinks are still one of the strongest signals of authority, and for a local business the best ones are local. Our link building focuses on sources that make sense for a Florida company: chambers of commerce, trade and industry associations, local news, sponsorships, suppliers and partners.
We do not buy links or use networks that put your site at risk. Off-page SEO also covers mentions of your business across the web, which Google and AI answers both use to judge whether you are established where you say you are.
Local citations and NAP consistency
Citations are listings of your business name, address and phone number, known as NAP, across directories and data sources. When they disagree, customers and search engines lose confidence. We audit and correct them, starting from the name registered with Florida's Division of Corporations, so every listing tells the same story.
For licensed contractors we add the license number wherever a directory allows it, which Florida law already expects in your advertising.
Review management
Reviews move both rankings and decisions. We set up review requests that go out after every finished job, reply to every review in your voice, in English or Spanish, and flag the ones that need you. For health care and legal clients, replies never confirm who is a patient or a client.
Review management is also available as a standalone service for requests and replies for businesses that already rank and want to convert more of the searches they get.
AI search optimization for AI Overviews and ChatGPT
A growing share of searches now ends in an AI answer. Moha is an AI powered digital marketing agency, so we treat AI search as part of SEO rather than a separate product. There is no trick to it: the work is to become the clearest, most trusted source on your services in your city.
That means answer first pages, business facts that match everywhere, original local detail, and a reputation that shows in reviews and mentions. It is the same work that wins the Map Pack, pointed at the next place customers look. One of our clinic clients is showing up in Google's AI answers.
SEO reporting you can act on
Rankings are a means, not the result. Each month we report the numbers that pay you: calls from Google, direction requests, form fills and booked jobs, alongside rankings and organic traffic so you can see what drives them.
Every report ends with what we will do next month and why. If something is not working, the report says so before you have to ask.
Work you can check
Local SEO results you can verify
Before you hire any local SEO agency in Florida, ask to see work you can check. Every figure on our case studies page names the tool it was measured in and the window it covers, and three of them come from local and programmatic SEO.

Local SEO in Florida: four markets, not one
Local SEO in Florida means winning four separate metros, not one state. Google limits a Business Profile's service area to about two hours' drive and ranks listings partly on how close they are to the searcher. Miami and Orlando are about 205 miles apart as the crow flies, so one profile cannot credibly serve both. A business that wants several Florida metros needs a real, staffed location in each, with its own profile, page and reviews.
The four metros are also growing fast. According to the Census Bureau's 2024 estimates, they gained more than 990,000 residents between 2020 and 2024. Every new household arrives without a plumber, a dentist or a roofer, searches for one, and calls whoever Google shows first.

Local SEO in Miami
Miami itself is home to 487,014 people, but its search market is the Miami metro of 6,457,988, the largest in Florida. Customers here move between English and Spanish, often within one household, and a search from Brickell can return different businesses from the same search in Wynwood or the Design District. A business that serves Coral Gables, Little Havana, Coconut Grove or Miami Beach needs to show relevance for each of those places rather than rely on one pin downtown. Our Miami work focuses on bilingual pages, replies to reviews in the language they were written in, and a profile that reflects the neighborhoods you really serve.
Areas around it: Little Havana, Allapattah, Miami Beach, Brownsville, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables

Local SEO in Tampa
Tampa's 414,547 residents sit at the heart of the Tampa Bay area, a metro of 3,424,560 that also contains St. Petersburg and Clearwater across the bay. That makes Tampa the one Florida market where three of our city pages share a single search region, so each page has to be written not to compete with the other two. Ybor City, Hyde Park and Seminole Heights attract different customers, and suburbs such as Temple Terrace already show up in the searches that reach our Tampa page. We build Tampa profiles and pages to win on the Hillsborough side of the bay.
Areas around it: Palm River-Clair Mel, East Lake-Orient Park, Egypt Lake-Leto, Carrollwood, Temple Terrace, Town 'n' Country

Local SEO in Orlando
Orlando has 334,854 residents inside a metro of 2,940,513 that added 267,126 people between 2020 and 2024, second only to the Miami metro among Florida's four largest. That makes Orlando the clearest example of Florida's newcomer effect: a large share of searchers have no provider yet and choose from the Map Pack. College Park, Thornton Park and Baldwin Park each have their own character, and nearby Winter Park, Maitland and Altamonte Springs behave like separate markets. We focus Orlando profiles on fresh reviews and complete service lists, because newcomers compare quickly and call once.
Areas around it: Pine Hills, Winter Park, Oak Ridge, Maitland, Altamonte Springs, Southchase

Local SEO in Jacksonville
Jacksonville is Florida's most populous city, with about 1.0 million residents, and the largest city by area in the contiguous United States. That size is the local SEO challenge: a customer in Riverside, San Marco or Springfield may be a long drive from a business on the other side of the city, and Google weighs that distance. The metro of 1,760,548 also takes in the beaches, including Jacksonville Beach and Ponte Vedra Beach, and growing suburbs such as Fleming Island, Fruit Cove and Oakleaf Plantation. We plan Jacksonville service areas around real drive times rather than the city limits.
Areas around it: Fruit Cove, Oakleaf Plantation, Lakeside, Jacksonville Beach, Fleming Island, Ponte Vedra Beach

Local SEO in St. Petersburg
St. Petersburg's 257,083 residents live on the Pinellas peninsula, where customers often search by neighborhood, from the Old Northeast to Kenwood and the Grand Central District. Because St. Petersburg, Tampa and Clearwater share one metro, the three cities compete for many of the same searches, and a business with a location in each needs every profile and page anchored to its own streets. For St. Petersburg that means service areas such as Pinellas Park, Seminole and Largo, and reviews that mention the neighborhood where the work was done.
Areas around it: West and East Lealman, Lealman, Pinellas Park, Seminole, Largo, Safety Harbor
See the St. Petersburg plan
Local SEO in Clearwater
Clearwater has 117,292 residents and two different sides: the beach, including Clearwater Beach and Island Estates, and inland neighborhoods such as Countryside. Visitors and part year residents shape demand near the beach, while inland demand looks like any established suburb. Neighboring Dunedin, Safety Harbor, Palm Harbor and Largo each have their own searches, and a Clearwater business can reasonably serve several of them. We set Clearwater service areas to match how far you really travel, and build pages for the places your customers come from.
Areas around it: Largo, Dunedin, Safety Harbor, Palm Harbor, Seminole, Pinellas Park
See the Clearwater plan
Local SEO in West Palm Beach
West Palm Beach, with 120,932 residents, is the northern anchor of the Miami metro, about 66 miles from Miami in a straight line. Many Palm Beach County customers never search with Miami in mind, so a Miami profile rarely reaches them. They need a business that is visibly local to Northwood, El Cid and Flamingo Park and to the towns around them, such as Palm Beach Gardens, Riviera Beach, Lake Worth Beach and Greenacres. We treat West Palm Beach as its own market, with its own profile and page, even when the business also serves Miami.
Areas around it: Riviera Beach, Palm Springs, Lake Worth Beach, Lake Worth Corridor, Greenacres City, Palm Beach Gardens
See the West Palm Beach planWhat Google's service area rules mean in practice
- Up to 20 service areas, listed as cities or ZIP codes, not a radius.
- About two hours' drive is the outer limit of the whole area.
- Hide the address if customers never come to you.
For a contractor in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Brandon are fair to list, and Orlando, roughly an hour and a half away on I-4, may be within reach. Miami and Jacksonville are not.
The rule that trips up expansion: no virtual offices
Google's guidelines for representing your business require a real location. A rented virtual office or a mailbox does not qualify unless it is staffed during business hours, and trying one risks suspension of the whole listing.

Other Florida cities we serve
The seven cities above each have a published plan of their own. Demand for local SEO in South Florida is especially heavy, and Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Hollywood and Naples all sit in that stretch without a page of their own yet. As a local SEO company in Florida we also work with businesses across the rest of the state, and the free audit looks at your own metro, whichever it is. A good SEO company in Florida should know the market you are in, not just the one it is based in.
Who we work with
SEO for Florida industries where one customer is worth thousands
SEO pays best where a single job is worth more than a month of marketing and the competition is dense, which is where a local SEO company in Florida earns its fee. In Florida that describes construction, with 63,945 small firms that have employees, and health care, with 54,204, according to the SBA's 2025 Florida profile. In construction, 82.5% of all jobs are at small firms, so a roofer is competing with hundreds of similar local businesses, not a few national brands.
Roofing SEO in Florida
Roofing is the clearest case for SEO in Florida because demand is both constant and sudden. Roofs age fast in sun and salt air, homeowners need inspections for insurance and home sales, and one storm can produce a month of work in a week. The roofers who capture it already list inspections, repairs, replacements and storm response on their profile, with photos of real local jobs. We build roofing SEO around those services: a profile with the right categories, a page for each service and each city you cover, your license number on every page as Florida law requires, and review requests that go out as each job closes. Between storms we grow the pages that earn steady searches, such as roof inspections and replacements, so the business is not waiting for the weather. After a storm, the line between marketing and an improper inducement matters, and we explain what a roofer may promise after a storm.
HVAC SEO in Florida
In most of the country air conditioning is a summer business. In Florida it is a year round essential, and a broken system in August is an emergency. The first minutes of that search are decisive: the customer calls whoever looks available and trustworthy right now. Our SEO for HVAC contractors makes sure the profile's primary category matches the work you most want, hours and emergency availability are accurate, and the service area is honest about how far you travel. Reviews that mention the service, such as a same day repair or a new system install, help customers and Google understand what you are known for.
SEO for contractors and remodelers in Florida
Florida's growth brings a steady flow of people buying homes they want to change, and second home owners who manage projects from another state. Both search by city and by project, such as a kitchen remodel in Tampa or a bathroom renovation in West Palm Beach, and both want proof before they call. SEO for contractors starts with project galleries from real local work, pages for the projects you want more of and review requests that ask customers to name the project and the neighborhood. For licensed trades the license number goes on every page, as Florida law requires.
Law firm SEO in Florida
Personal injury and family law are among the most competitive local categories in Florida, and among the most valuable, because a single signed matter can be worth more than a year of marketing. People often search right after an accident and call quickly, so the Map Pack decides a great deal. Our law firm SEO agency page goes into the detail. Local SEO for lawyers in Florida is the most expensive category on this page to buy your way into, which is exactly why ranking for it pays. Lawyers advertise under the Florida Bar's advertising rules, which apply to a firm's website and online content. Our law firm SEO keeps one profile per real office, uses the firm's true name without added keywords, and builds practice area and city pages that stay factual. Review replies never discuss a matter.
Dental and medical SEO in Florida
With 54,204 small health care firms with employees in Florida, patients have plenty of choice and they choose on reviews, availability and convenience. Many practices serve patients in two languages, and groups with several offices need each location to rank on its own. Dental groups also need a profile for each public facing dentist, the subject of our dental local SEO for practices and dentists. We run a profile per office with accurate hours and booking links, build treatment pages for what each office offers and set up review requests patients can complete in English or Spanish. Licenses can be checked on the Florida Department of Health's license lookup, and replies never confirm that someone is a patient.
Med spa SEO in Florida
Aesthetic treatments are researched carefully and booked on trust. Customers compare before and after results, reviews that name a treatment, and the credentials of whoever performs it. Our med spa SEO builds treatment pages with honest descriptions, uses before and after photos only with written permission, keeps each location's services list aligned with what it actually offers, and times review requests for when results are visible.
Only in Florida
Florida rules and seasons that shape your SEO
Three things set Florida apart from any other state we work in. A local SEO company in Florida plans around all three; a national agency usually ignores them.
Hurricane season and your Google Business Profile
The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30 and peaks on September 10, according to the National Hurricane Center. Google asks businesses to set special hours for short closures and to mark the business temporarily closed for anything longer than about a week, then to mark it reopened.
We prepare storm exposed clients in May: every storm service you really offer listed on the profile, photos of real jobs, and post templates written in calm weather. During the season we change hours and status the same day they change. After each storm we request reviews for every finished job, because those keep working long after the demand passes.
Florida's contractor license rule belongs in your SEO
Florida Statute 489.119 requires a contractor's registration or certification number in each offer of services, bid, contract or advertisement, regardless of medium. For contractors that means the license number belongs on the website and in the content of the Business Profile, where it also becomes proof customers can check on the state's license search.
It covers general, building and residential contractors and specialty trades such as roofing, plumbing, air conditioning and pools. The number goes in the profile description and posts, never in the business name, because Google requires the name you use in the real world.
"...shall appear in each offer of services, business proposal, bid, contract, or advertisement, regardless of medium..."
The same subsection requires the number on vehicles that carry the business name. A first offense brings a notice of noncompliance, and fines can follow if it is not corrected within 30 days.
Local SEO in English and Spanish
30.1% of Floridians speak a language other than English at home, and Hispanic owners hold 36.9% of the state's businesses, according to the SBA. In Miami, Orlando and Tampa especially, customers search in both languages, so Spanish service pages and Spanish replies to Spanish reviews are part of ranking and converting.
We write real Spanish pages rather than machine translations, mark up each language correctly so the two versions support each other, and reply to every review in the language it was written in. We never create a second Business Profile for the Spanish speaking market: one business has one profile, and a duplicate puts both at risk.
Not every Florida business needs Spanish pages. A roofer in a mostly English speaking suburb may not. A dental group in Miami almost certainly does. The audit checks your own customers and searches before we recommend it.

Questions
Florida local SEO questions business owners ask
Collected from what owners ask on Quora, in Google's own Business Profile community and on the Local Search Forum, and from the questions people type into Google.
How much does local SEO cost in Florida?
With Moha, local SEO services in Florida start at $3,000 a month on the Launch plan and $4,800 a month on the Growth plan, with custom pricing for multi location businesses. You will find much cheaper offers. The difference is usually what gets done each month: a few hundred dollars typically buys listing updates and a report, not keyword research, content, link building and review management run together.
Is local SEO worth it for a small business?
It is worth it when one new customer is worth more than a month of SEO, and when you can give it a few months to build. For a roofer, a law firm or a dental practice, a handful of extra jobs a month usually covers the cost. Use the calculator above with your own numbers before you decide.
What does an SEO company actually do each month?
A good local SEO company in Florida researches how your customers search, fixes your website so Google can read and trust it, keeps your Google Business Profile complete and active, builds reviews, citations and backlinks, publishes content that answers buyers' questions, and reports on the calls and jobs it brings. The list of services above is exactly what we do.
How long does SEO take to show results in Florida?
Profile and citation fixes can show within weeks. Competitive metros such as Miami and Tampa usually take several months of steady reviews, content and links before rankings move a lot. We report monthly on calls and leads, so you can see the trend rather than wait for a single ranking.
How do I choose a local SEO company in Florida?
The best local SEO company in Florida for you is the one that can prove its work. Ask to see results you can verify, measured in a named tool. Ask what exactly happens each month and who does it. Ask who will own your Business Profile, website and data. And be wary of anyone who guarantees a number one ranking, because nobody controls Google's results.
Can a service area business rank in the Map Pack without an office?
Yes. A business that serves customers at their location can hide its address and list up to 20 service areas within about two hours' drive, and still appear in the Map Pack. Distance from the searcher still matters, so you rank most easily near where you are based and need strong pages and reviews to reach further.
Can one Google Business Profile rank in Miami, Tampa and Orlando?
No. Those cities are far beyond the two hour service area limit, and Google ranks listings partly on distance. To win in several Florida metros you need a real, staffed location in each with its own profile. Until you have one, a strong city page on your website can still earn organic traffic there.
Who owns my Google Business Profile if I hire an SEO agency?
You should. The business should always be the primary owner of its profile, website and analytics, with any agency added as a manager. Owners on the Local Search Forum describe losing listings when an SEO company held them. If an agency asks to own your profile, say no.
What happens if my Business Profile gets suspended?
A suspended profile disappears from the Map Pack, and reviews can vanish with it until it is reinstated. Most suspensions follow a guideline problem: keywords added to the business name, a virtual office address or duplicate listings. Prevention is cheaper than recovery, which is why we build every profile within Google's guidelines from the start.
Should I hire an SEO agency, a freelancer or do SEO myself?
You can do the basics yourself: complete your profile, ask for reviews and keep your details consistent. A freelancer suits a single task. An SEO agency in Florida makes sense when you want keyword research, content, technical SEO, links and reviews run together every month, and when your time is worth more running the business.
Will you get my business into AI Overviews and ChatGPT?
No one can promise a place in an AI answer. What we can do is make your business the clearest and best supported answer for your services in your city, with answer first pages, consistent facts and a real reputation. Google says those are the same things that earn visibility in its AI features.
Do you guarantee first page rankings?
No, and be careful with anyone who does. Google decides rankings, and the Map Pack changes with where the searcher stands. We commit to the work, and we report on the outcome that pays you: calls and booked jobs.
Do contractors have to show their license number online?
Florida Statute 489.119 requires the registration or certification number in each advertisement regardless of medium, as defined by board rule. We treat website and profile content as advertising and include it. If you are unsure how your board applies the rule, ask the board directly.
Should I mark my business temporarily closed during a hurricane?
Only if you will be closed for more than about a week. For shorter closures Google asks for special hours instead. Mark the business reopened the day you are back, because a listing left on "temporarily closed" sends customers to competitors.
